Mills College Art Lecture Series: Takahiro Yamamoto

Takahiro Yamamoto is a Portland-based artist working across dance performance, sculpture, and photography. His practice is sociological and observational, frequently investigating his performer’s physical qualities, emotional states, habitual behaviors, and expressions of spontaneous thoughts. Yamamoto’s productions and visual art works have been shown at festivals and in galleries in the pacific northwest, California, New York, Japan, and Kenya. He is a recipient of 2015 Creative Exchange Lab Award from the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art and the 2012 danceWEB scholarship. Yamamoto co-directs the performance company madhause, and is part of the Portland-based group, Physical Education. Supported by the Herringer Graduate Lecture Series.
